So first off, balloons are super difficult props! This gender reveal photoshoot resulted in some serious confusion on my part and on Tim’s, a lot of photos where you couldn’t see the balloons, and ultimately the balloons floating away into the sky well before we were “done.” Probably a highly entertaining site for onlookers, but not not the finest moment for photographer (dad to be be) and blogger (yours truly).
On a much brighter note, I’m so excited to announce we are having identical baby girls 😉 As you may have read in my first trimester article, I was totally shocked during our first doctors appointment when we learned we were having twins. It took me a couple of days to even fully grasp it. I thought that all twins were hereditary (#amateurhour) but apparently that’s not the case. Later I learned that identical twins are actually more common amongst couples who don’t have twins that run in their family. So we just got lucky!
I don’t know what it’s like to have a sister, but I’m so excited for our little baby girls to have a built in BFF-er (best friend forever)! Tim has an older sister (Robin) and I have a younger brother (Shane), we are both very close with them, have always loved having a sibling and wanted our children to have one. As a child, I used to dress Shane up as a girl whenever I could get away with it, so maybe having baby girls was always part of my destiny!
Happy weekend and thanks for reading!
